When attached to a shelving unit (sold separately), the shelf slides 12" forward to provide easy access to its contents. This helps streamline product retrieval, eliminating the hassle associated with reaching over items in the front to access items in the back. Easy to Assemble

After you snap the split sleeves on, fit the shelf down over each post to hold it in place. The surface of the shelf is easy to pull out along its slides, granting immediate access whenever needed.

I looked high and low for pull-out wire shelves and only found these. They are poorly designed. I ordered a pack of 4. The packaging is inadequate and was punctured in several places. 3 of the 4 shelves were broken. The slides are fixed to the sides using long rivets with no support except at the ends. Many of the rivets had sheared in transit. Rather than try to patch up the packaging and return the shelves I removed the rivets and replaced them with nuts and bolts, and now they are fine. This small change, and improved packaging, would make this product satisfactory. One final thing: standard shelf mats are too big, since the sliding shelves are a couple of inches shorter than a normal shelf, so I had to trim mine with a utility knife.

Should have listened to the other reviews - it arrived damaged and then with even the slightest bit of pressure on it, the shelf comes off it's slider and damaged it even more. Don't buy.

Regency shelving is designed to work with many popular brands of shelving, including Metro Super Erecta and Advance Tabco. However, it's important to note that each type of component must be from the same brand, due to minor variations in size between brands.

For example, you can use Metro Super Erecta shelves with Regency posts, but all of the shelves must be Metro and all of the posts must be Regency. However, you cannot use a few Advance Tabco shelves and a few Regency shelves on the same set of posts at the same time, or two Metro posts and two Regency posts on the same shelving unit.
